'Suits' Season 3: Mike And Rachel Will 'Try And Make It Work,' Says Patrick J. Adams (VIDEO)

'All Bets Are Off' For Mike And Rachel

"Suits" is back for Season 3 and after Mike (Patrick J. Adams) and Rachel's (Meghan Markle) steamy file room hook-up in the Season 2 finale, fans of the will they/won't they couple will finally find out if the pair can make it work for real.

Oh, and there's the small matter of the merger between Pearson and a British firm, a deal with the devil that put Harvey (Gabriel Macht) at odds with boss Jessica (Gina Torres) last season. Just another day at the office.

To promote the Season 3 premiere, star Patrick J. Adams visited HuffPost Live on Tuesday, where talk soon turned to the fan-favorite relationship between Mike and Rachel.

"This season it's just kind of ramping up everything -- the relationships are being even more taxed, there's a lot of drama, Rachel and Mike are finally going to get a chance …" Adams previewed. "I told her the truth and then once I told her the truth, all bets were off and we were into it. This season we're gonna pick up right where we left off and even though there's some struggle and some serious tension in getting that relationship off the ground, you're gonna see that we really take a run at it and try and make it work, and I think people are gonna like that."

Although Adams admitted that there's always pressure to make every season bigger and better than the last, the 31-year-old actor felt confident about Season 3: "You've come into your own after three seasons," he pointed out. "So now when we go back to work, there's an ease to it, we all know each other, we feel like we're a family."

"Suits" fans can also look forward to a "Game of Thrones" reunion of sorts this year; Michelle Fairley will visit the series for a guest role as Ava Hessington, a British entrepreneur who runs a successful international oil company. Faced with a lawsuit that may cost her the family business, she puts her trust in Harvey to fight the charges against her. The stint will reunite her with "GOT" co-star Conleth Hill, who plays Edward Darby, the head of the British firm that has merged with Pearson Hardman.

Adams -- a self-proclaimed "Game of Thrones" fan -- admitted to "fangirling" over Fairley while she was on set. "She’s such a lovely woman, with such an amazing sense of humor so I think it was a really good fit for her ... 'Game of Thrones’ is a lot of fun, but it’s not, I think, known for its sense of humor … so it was fun to get her on set and start getting to laugh with her a little bit," he recently told Access Hollywood.

"Suits" Season 3 premieres Tuesday, July 16 at 10 p.m. ET on USA.
