WATCH: Lacrosse Fight Goes On ... And On

Canada has been the site of a few noteworthy sports fights lately. Last Sunday a Thai badminton player attacked his former Olympic doubles partner at the Canada Open. Now a drawn-out lacrosse melee is gathering attention.

As the YouTube video (above) shows, it started Wednesday with just two combatants, the Oakville Rock's Stephan Leblanc and the Brooklin Redmen's Mike Cudmore, during a Major Series Lacrosse game in Whitby, Ontario. Tensions seemed to subside a bit before erupting in earnest when Oakville players rushed the Brooklin bench.

"We've got ourselves a bench-clearing brawl," the announcer can be heard saying. He later adds of the mano-a-mano battles, "There's too many out here for me to cover, folks."

The Toronto Sun reported that 195 penalty minutes were assessed in an eight-minute stretch of that period. Brooklin eventually won the match, 11-7.
