Dolly Parton Shows Off Her Lavish New York City Apartment In 1980 (VIDEO)

WATCH: Dolly Parton Shows Off Her NYC Apartment In 1980

Dolly Parton in a lavish Fifth Avenue apartment in New York City is sort of like imagining a fish out of water. So getting a glimpse of the country singer's midtown home with Central Park views in 1980 is a rarity. The star, who was in her thirties at the time, was staying there while preparing for her role in the film "Nine To Five."

In the clip above, Parton gave Huell Howser from CBS' "Country People" a tour of the space, which was decked out in classic '80s pastel decor, laminate and glass. The highlight of the video is when Howser remarked on her large collection of books, to which Parton replied, "They're all my books, but most of them were just bought and put in here for looks. I figured if I got bored in New York City I could read em', but who gets bored in New York City?"
