Freda Johnson Accused Of Calling 911 To Complain About Traffic Ticket

Woman Called 911 To Gripe About Ticket: Cops

When Freda Johnson got a ticket for not wearing a seatbelt, she was mad and wanted the authorities to know it.

Problem is, she let them know by calling 911 to complain.

Johnson, 50, of Boynton Beach, Fla., was arrested last week for misusing 911, CBS12.com reported.

Johnson didn't waste any time, according to authorities, making the 911 call as the officer was printing out the citation.

The 911 dispatcher who answered Johnson's call notified her ticketing officer, who then arrested her while explaining the nuances of the emergency phone service, WPBF-TV reported.

"You don't call 911 just because you're unhappy," the officer told Johnson in the call, which was obtained by the station.

Instead of just getting a ticket, Johnson was arrested and booked in at the Palm Beach County Jail for misusing 911, a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail, the Sun-Sentinel reported.

Johnson isn't the first person accused of calling 911 for reasons that most people wouldn't consider emergencies, as the gallery below amply demonstrates.
