Eric Fehrnstrom: 'Bad Optics' For RNC To Block CNN, NBC From 2016 Debates

Former Romney Aide Hurls Hit At RNC's 'Bad Optics'

Eric Fehrnstrom, a top aide to Mitt Romney during the 2012 presidential election, criticized the Republican National Committee's decision not to partner with CNN and NBC for any 2016 presidential primary debates.

Fehrnstrom tweeted his reaction to the unanimous vote on the resolution, passed Friday at the party's summer meeting in Boston:

Bad optics for the RNC to block CNN and NBC from sponsoring presidential debates. Attacking the media is a loser's game.

The RNC's opposition to CNN and NBC is a result of the networks' plans to produce programs about potential 2016 Democratic candidate and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
