Kobe and Vanessa Bryant called off their divorce earlier this year, which could be why the couple seem to be going through a complete real estate makeover these days.
The pair sold one home for $3.22 million in January, and now they've placed their main residence on the market for $8.599 million. Both properties are located in Pelican Ridge Estates, a luxurious gated community in Newport Coast, Calif.
This most recent addition to the market is a Mediterranean-style estate with four bedrooms and seven bathrooms (four full baths, three half-baths). Located just a few miles away from the coast, the two-story home has ocean and city views and about 8,500 square feet of living space.
Renovations and additions to the home (said to be undertaken by the current owners in the official listing) include a theater, lobby and wet bar, as well as a hair salon and a library with a shark tank in it. And since this is Kobe's home, the mansion also sports a new 850-square-foot gym for the Lakers champion. Outdoors, there's a pool and spa with water features, a fire pit and outdoor kitchen with BBQ.
Kobe, 34, has had to fend off rumors that he might retire after injuring his Achilles' tendon last season. In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel at a fundraising event last week, he told the audience that his career is "definitely not over" and "people just don't understand how obsessed I am with winning."
For fans worried about his recovery, Kobe posted an Instagram video Monday that shows him running on an anti-gravity treadmill.
Unfortunately, the listing photos don't include the features that we're most interested in: the shark tank, hair salon and massive gym. We'll just have to use our imaginations.
