The National's 'Graceless' Video Finds Somber Band In Playful Mood

Band Injured During Video Shoot

The National went to painstaking lengths to bring fans this new video -- literally. On the set of "Graceless," bassist Scott Devendorf wound up with a concussion and singer Matt Berninger bruised his face. Both incidents were results of the horseplay seen throughout the video, which offers a decidedly more blithe mood for the somber indie outfit.

"[It] involved a great deal of binge-drinking beer," Berninger told Rolling Stone recently. "We shot it at my mom and dad's house in Cincinnati and kind of destroyed the place and ourselves along the way."

"Graceless" marks the latest single from the band's 2013 album "Trouble Will Find Me." Watch the rousing black-and-white clip below.
