The actors who appear on Comedy Central's roasts can sometimes surprise you. Ellen Barkin smoldered through an unforgettable set during the Roast of Roseanne last year, and this time around, Jonah Hill practically stole the show as he tore into his friend James Franco and everyone else on the dais.
During a night of mostly strong performances — Jeffrey Ross killed as usual, and first-time roaster Natasha Leggero was sublimely withering — Hill managed to stand out by being as genuinely loving as he was biting.
Watch above as Jonah expertly jabs Seth Rogen and explains "the Franco philosophy." (There is some NSFW language, naturally.)
