Progresso's Creamy Alfredo Soup: Can You Stomach The Commercial? (VIDEO)

Are we the only ones bothered by these ads?

The unluckiest of us watching television over the weekend undoubtedly saw Progresso's ad promoting its newest flavor, Creamy Alfredo Soup. In a world where we dare to dream of arteries flowing with cheese and cream, there exists a canned soup made with the heaviest Italian sauce known to man. Oh, and there are also pieces of pasta and chicken floating around in there.

The commercial depicts a young chef at work perfecting his recipe, nervously awaiting the approval of a curmudgeonly old chef who criticizes his every move. The garlic is "too big," the pasta is "too soft," the Parmesan wheel is "too small," and in our opinion, the concept of Alfredo soup should be illegal.

The money shot arrives at the 13-second mark, when we're shown a giant, bubbling pot of thick white goo.

The above ad has been especially heavily featured during live coverage of the U.S. Open. For those of you who have done the math:

Hot, sweaty tennis + Alfredo sauce soup = nausea.

You tell us: Does the concept of Alfredo soup gross you out? Or would you be willing to give it a try? Let us know in the comments section below.
