'Kill Your Darlings' Trailer: 1940s Beat Generation Comes To Life At The Hands Of A Scruffy Daniel Radcliffe

'Kill Your Darlings' Trailer Is Here

The first full trailer for the Beat Generation biopic "Kill Your Darlings" has arrived, literary musings and 1940s angst fully intact. Daniel Radcliffe takes on Allen Ginsberg in the film -- the poet was recently portrayed by James Franco in "Howl" and David Cross in "I'm Not There" -- and the "Harry Potter" alum's frumpy hair and Ivy League scruff further distance him from Hogwarts.

Set during Ginsberg's years at Columbia, "Darlings" zeroes in on the 1944 murder committed by Beat staple Lucien Carr (Dane DeHaan). Ben Forster portrays William Burroughs and "Boardwalk Empire" regular Jack Huston plays Jack Kerouac, with a supporting cast comprising Elizabeth Olsen, Michael C. Hall, Jennifer Jason Leigh and, interestingly enough, David Cross as Kerouac's poet father. "Darlings" hits theaters Oct. 16.
