It was just a little over a year-and-a-half ago that we got wind that supermodel Gisele Bundchen and football player Tom Brady's Brentwood, California home was complete. And now, in the latest issue of Architectural Digest, we're getting a look inside this eco-fabulous estate.
The couple called upon architect Richard Landry and designer Joan Behnke to make their home not only chic but also comfortable. “I like simplicity and coziness,” Bundchen said. “I want to live in a place that feels like a real home, where you can put your feet up on the couch and just relax.”
Although the house looks massive, it's definitely not a typical celebrity home. It has a neutral color palette throughout that gives it a lovely country chic vibe. In fact, the two most over-the-top things are the moat around the house and Bundchen's closet, which has a gorgeous antique chandelier, custom-made cabinetry and marble countertops. But hey, that's not a lot considering she's the world's highest-paid model, right?
Of course, when your home is so "green" it's hard for it to look very glitzy. With reclaimed oak ceilings, solar panels and a water-efficient system, it seems these two were more concerned about sustainability than extravagance. And we give them major props for that.
