The Media Reacts To Kimmel's Twerk Prank

A few days ago, the Internet was set ablaze by a video passed around as "the worst twerk FAIL ever." The video immediately went viral and in less than a week got millions of views, attracting news coverage from both local and national media.

After many outlets ran the video under the impression it was real without checking to ensure its veracity, Jimmy Kimmel came clean confessing the video was a hoax and that he was behind it the entire time.

In a way, it backfired: This just gave the media a chance to fill even more airtime with segments about how the clip was a prank perpetrated by Kimmel.

While he's not exactly remorseful, he wants everyone to still believe in the Internet. He joked: "Just because I faked this particular video doesn’t mean everything on the Internet is fake. Porn is still real.”
