Get Into This: 6 Things We're Living For This Week

It's the top of the week, and if you're like us, a little Monday motivation is in order. Here are five things the editors of HuffPost Black Voices are turning to for inspiration, help, and downtime in the days to come.

I've been listening to Janelle Monae's "The Electric Lady" all day every day for the last two weeks. It's the perfect "get up and go" music in the morning, and can also carry you through the work day. My favorite tracks include, "Give 'Em What They Love" feat. Prince; "Q.U.E.E.N." feat. Erykah Badu; "Primetime" feat. Miguel; and "Victory."

I believe a gal can never have too many tubes of lipstick. The perfect pout has the power to instantly transform a look from "ho-hum" to "oh-wow!" Right now, I'm crushing on the high-intensity hues from Lip Bar. Each color is named after a tasty cocktail and made from natural ingredients, including coconut oil, shea butter and vitamin E. Pucker up!

So, I'm watching the second to last episode (ever) of "Breaking Bad" last night, and I see that the little homey Kid President now has a Meineke commercial. I think this is pretty dope. We've been following his videos for some time now, and while him profiteering off of his popularity might rub some the wrong way, my general thought is: You can't knock the hustle. Keep going young'in!

Fall has officially arrived, bringing with it my overwhelming urge to nest. For me, that means spending copious amounts of time browsing Pinterest for inspiration, including a few celeb boards, like Sanaa Lathan, who I recently discovered have not only a shared interest in home design, but some seriously good taste! Check out her "Delicious homes and decor" board and more of my fall musings here.

As an avid restaurant buff, I recently took on a newfound interest in South African wine. Unlike traditional white wines from various vineyards across the globe, Cape Point Sauvignon Blanc has a distinct taste to perfectly compliment your next candlelit dinner.

The Uber app is the perfect lifesaver for when you just can't flag down a cab and need to get somewhere ASAP. Just download the app, plug in your debit card info, and that's it. No money is exchanged. While it is a bit pricier than getting a cab the normal way, at times it's worth it. Plus they usually have deals or specials happening so just search to find them! And they recently started letting people hail yellow taxis through the app which is making me even more addicted to it. I usually use it in New York, but right now I'm in Chicago and it's been a great way to get around town when I don't feel like bugging friends for a ride (since I still don't have my license)!
