Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who has been giving a long Anti-Obamacare speech since Tuesday, has brought a slew of unusual references to the Senate floor. In the first few hours of his speech, he talked about Nazis, the moon, pro-wrestling and "The Little Engine That Could," and he claimed that his father wrote "Green Eggs and Ham."
On Wednesday, Cruz brought Star Wars into the mix.
Cruz compared Washington to the Empire, and said he thinks that "just like in the Star Wars movies, the Empire will strike back."
"But at the end of the day, I think the Rebel Alliance, I think the people will prevail," Cruz said.
He also "wondered if at some point we were going to see a tall gentleman in a mechanical breathing apparatus come forward and say in a deep voice, 'Mike Lee, I am your father.'"
