Joe Scarborough criticized Republicans in Congress for refusing to pass a budget that funds Obamacare on Tuesday's "Morning Joe."

"I oppose this strategy," Scarborough said. "I think it's a stupid strategy. The president won."

The government shut down at midnight on Tuesday after House Republicans repeatedly targeted Obamacare in spending proposals, and the Senate voted to strip the provisions that would change the health care legislation.

On Tuesday, Scarborough voiced his opposition to Obamacare, but lamented that Republicans seemed to have no "plan B" for the standoff in Washington, D.C.

He also said that President Obama, who he called "the most isolated president" in recent memory, deserved blame for the shutdown as well. "The isolation didn't just happen because there's some crazy right wing Republicans that have taken over the conference," Scarborough said. "They have, but that's not the only reason why this is happening right here."
