Fantastic Fox Frustrates Golfers At Swiss Course By Stealing Balls (VIDEO)

WATCH: Fantastic Fox Takes Golf Course By Storm

A fast-footed fox has been both an annoyance and a delight for golf enthusiasts at a Swiss golf club since it first appeared on the fairways of the alpine resort in early September.

Dubbed "Foxy" by local residents, the crafty animal reportedly appears on Verbier Golf Club's Par Three Moulins course every day between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. The bushy-tailed creature is said to run around the holes, waiting for golfers to take their shot, before dashing to capture the golf balls with his mouth and running away with them.

According to BBC News, Foxy has already stolen more than 100 balls in the last month.

“He comes every day, steals the golf balls and plays with them,” Murielle Guex, manager of a restaurant that's located near the course, told Swiss newspaper 20 Minutes, according to a Huffington Post translation.

Despite interrupting the game of many golfers, the fox -- whom Guex calls "unique" and courageous -- has amassed quite the fan following.

"People are very interested and many people come in the afternoon to see the animal," Thomas Grech, Verbier Gold Club's director, told CNN. "It's not very common to see a savage animal coming so close to people who play on the golf course. It's very, very special for us."

Grech added that he's been tickled pink by just how famous the cunning animal has become in recent weeks.

"The story has gone around the world," he said. "It's very, very funny."
