'NCIS' Says Goodbye To Ziva, But Tony Has To Find Her First (VIDEO)

In the latest episode of "NCIS," it was time to say goodbye to Ziva. After weeks of searching, Tony finally managed to track her down in Israel, at the home she was born in. He even lied to Gibbs about finding her to steal a few more days with her. He was trying to understand where she was and why she felt she needed to leave her life with NCIS behind.

“I have to do this alone. I have to let go of everything, or I will be pulled back to where I started," she told him. That included leaving him. But she did give him a parting gift -- her necklace, recovered at a crime scene in the premiere. And he convinced her to at least give Gibbs a call. Especially since she said that Gibbs is a big motivating factor in her soul searching.

While Buddy TV's Kim Stempel thought it was a good end to Ziva's story, she felt that the episode could have used more Ziva. Entertainment Weekly's Sandra Gonzalez was able to let out a sigh of relief at the end of the hour, because the show left it open for Ziva to return. As Gonzalez pointed out, pretty much every other cast departure has coincided with their character's death. For now, Ziva is still out there ... searching for answers.

Meanwhile, "NCIS" will continue without her, Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
