Thom Yorke Attacks Spotify As 'The Last Desperate Fart Of A Dying Corpse'

Radiohead lead singer Thom Yorke has publicly taken issue with Spotify for the second time.

Back in July, Yorke and his producer Nigel Godrich removed Atoms For Peace, a supergroup Yorke formed in 2009 featuring Flea from Red Hot Chili Peppers, from the music streaming service, citing the low royalty fees artists receive. On Friday, he went a step further, calling the music streaming service "the last desperate fart of a dying corpse."

Yorke told Sopitas in Mexico that his decision to remove his album from Spotify is a big transition for him.

"I feel like as musicians we need to fight the Spotify thing. I feel that in some ways what’s happening in the mainstream is the last gasp of the old industry. Once that does finally die, which it will, something else will happen," he said.

He also went on to say that Spotify "isn't the mainstream."

Spotify representatives have said before that they hope to properly compensate musicians for putting their music on the service.
