Joe Scarborough, Mika Brzezinski Reportedly Eyeing 'Weekend Today': New York Post

Joe And Mika To 'Weekend Today'?

There could be more Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski coming soon.

The New York Post reported Wednesday that the "Morning Joe" co-hosts are looking into expanding their show into Sunday mornings on NBC, and possibly taking over the Sunday edition of "Weekend Today."

No deal has been struck yet, the Post said. Some sources have said that people close to the show are telling friends that the duo is taking over "Weekend Today," while other sources have said the talks may or may not go anywhere.

This comes over two years after "Morning Joe" almost left NBC entirely. In 2011, the show had been prepared to move to CBS until NBC Universal CEO Steve Burke stepped in.

Sunday's "Weekend Today" reportedly appeared on the table when Deborah Turness was announced as NBC News president last summer. Scarborough and Brzezinski pitched taking over "Meet the Press" or Sunday's "Weekend Today." Sources told the Post that Turness did not want to get rid of "MTP" host David Gregory.
