A woman dressed as an "abusive wife" for a Halloween pub crawl may have taken her costume a bit too seriously.
Cristina Crespo, 26, was arrested in Clawson, Mich., on domestic violence charges after allegedly " was screaming and repeatedly hitting [her] boyfriend with her purse” outside of a bar Saturday at about 9 p.m., Clawson Police Lt. Scott Sarvello told The Daily Tribune.
Her boyfriend wore an "abused husband" costume.
“It’s ironic that she went out dressed up as an abuser and that’s what she ended up as,” Sarvello told the paper.
Police say Crespo's BAC was .19 at the time of the assault -- more than twice the legal limit for driving.
Even if no actual assault occurred, an abusive wife is a pretty tasteless costume -- but is it the most offensive we've seen this Halloween? It's got some tough competition.
Earlier this month, at least one pair of tasteless revelers was spotted in a graphic Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman costume.
Also this week, actress Julianne Hough caught a lot of flack after appearing in blackface while dressing up as the character Crazy Eyes from "Orange Is The New Black."
