On the season finale of "Drop Dead Diva," Jane's mother, Elaine, died. In her final moments, she revealed that she knew that Jane wasn't really her daughter. In fact, she'd known that Jane wasn't Jane since the accident -- that's when Deb wound up in Jane's body. And yet, Elaine told Jane that she loved her regardless.
But Elaine wasn't the only one in on Jane's big secret by the end of the hour. See, the original Jane came back this season, now in the body of a young woman named Brittney. So, when Grayson was comforting Jane and the two started kissing, Brittney showed up to mess it all up for the woman in her body.
“Jane isn’t really who you think she is," Brittney told Grayson. Her timing couldn't have been worse, according to TV Fanatic's Leigh Raines. "We finally got our big Jane and Grayson kiss only for it to be interrupted!" she wrote. "But c'mon, did you expect anything else? The finale had to end on a cliffhanger note.”
At least fans know they're going to see what happens next, thanks to Lifetime ordering an early renewal of the show. That's much better than last year's cancellation/resurrection. "Drop Dead Diva" will be back with 13 new episodes in 2014.
