'Vampire Diaries': Damon's Past Comes Back To Get Him

It looks like there's more to Damon's past than we knew on "The Vampire Diaries." He had captured the man behind Jesse's abduction, and discovered that this man was part of the Augustine vampire mystery ... and so was Damon. We saw the results of Wes' handiwork -- Jesse craved vampire blood and was ultimately put down. But when Damon recognized a code name on a blood bag in Wes' lab.

Then, it was revealed that Damon was a test subject back in the 1950s. He was locked up and experimented on before he managed to escape. He thought the Augustine society was long gone, but he was wrong. And then, thanks to some vervain, he was their captor once again. It was enough to put the show on E! Online's list of OMG TV moments for the night.

"I’m sure Augustine will be thrilled to have you back," Wes said. "The episode ended with Damon clawing at the walls of a cell, suffering from the same kind of PTSD that’s been plaguing his brother since getting his memories back from Tessa," noted Hollywood Life's Andy Swift. "But hey, maybe the Salvatores can get some kind of special brother rate on therapy!

"The Vampire Diaries" continues every Thursday at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
