Congratulations, Gemma Ward!
The Australian model and boyfriend David Letts welcomed a baby girl this week. The news was confirmed by IMG Models Australia in a statement given to Frockwriter: "Although IMG doesn't comment on their client's personal life, we are so thrilled for Gemma and her new family and wish them well and much happiness."
Ward's brother Oscar reportedly broke the good news on his Facebook page, where he announced "I am officially an uncle" before deleting the post. Then, Ward's model pal Nicole Trunfio took to Instagram to post a photo of the new mom breastfeeding, which has also since been deleted.
The blonde stunner first hit the modeling world at the age of 15, and her ethereal look allowed her to become one of the most high-profile posers in the biz. After landing more than her fair share of Vogue covers, major fashion campaigns and more "It girl" gigs, she faded away from the scene in 2008, shortly after then-boyfriend Heath Ledger's death. "I set out to really focus inside myself," she told The Sunday Telegraph in 2011 about her decision to take a break.
Now, with a freshly-signed contract with IMG and a new baby, we'd say things are only getting better for Ward.
Welcome to the club, Gemma!
