Selena Gomez Says She's The 'Happiest' She's Been In A While After Canceling Tour

Selena Gomez Says She's The 'Happiest' She's Been In A While

It looks like Selena Gomez isn't regretting her decision to take a little "me time" and cancel her Asia and Australian tour dates next year.

"I'm the happiest I've been in a while ... So blessed and thankful for the future, for release and to finally be happy for those I loved," the 21-year-old wrote along with a photo of herself cuddling her baby sister Grace, which she posted to her Instagram account on Sunday (Dec. 22)

Gomez also looked completely at ease in another photo she posted later that day, in which she's staring out a window and taking in the view.

Gomez announced she was canceling her tour last week, explaining to fans that after "many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be."

The "Come And Get It" singer's decision isn't that surprising, since it seems music may not have been her greatest passion after all. Back in August, Gomez revealed that she would take a break from her music career to focus on acting once her "Stars Dance" tour wrapped. Just last month, Gomez admitted to Teen Vogue:

"This tour was almost like my goodbye tour initially, I wanted to quit music," she said. "And once I got onstage and I put it all together and it did become what it became, I just thought there's no way that I'm close to ... saying this is it."
