Here's The Home Of The Future, Where Everything Is Connected (PHOTO)

Before you walk out the door, you always make sure you have your keys and phone, turn the lights off and, of course, lock up -- but before you know it, saying goodbye to your home might just be changing up that checklist. Yes, we mean vocally telling your home that you're leaving so it can turn off the lights and whatnot for you. Well, if you have the Samsung Smart Home, that is.

A centerpiece of the International Consumer Electronics Show, which kicked off in Las Vegas earlier today, the Smart Home has already been described as a "vision of domestic bliss," in which all household devices can be connected through a single app. By doing so, homeowners can personalize the settings on electronics in order to switch them on and off remotely and maintain a view of their homes while away (thanks to the cameras built into TVs or other devices). And, as if that wasn't enough, it also comes with a Smart Customer Service component to alert you if, say, your fridge light is burned out or your washing machine filter is clogged. All of these things could be available to you before the summertime...as long as you have the right equipment, that is.

“In the coming days, we will continue to roll out better home services to our consumers to enable them to keep enjoying a brand-new experience of ‘Smart Living and Beyond,’” said Wonpyo Hong, President, Media Solutions Center, Samsung Electronics.

But Samsung isn't alone in its vision of an interactive abode. Others include Archos, which hopes to show off an Android-powered Smart Home Tablet, and LG which debuted its HomeChat system that allows homeowners to control devices via text messages.

And hey, as long as the technology doesn't pull a Smart House and leave you in unwarranted lock-down mode, we say they all sound like great ideas.
