Aereo CEO Chet Kanojia Shares His Personal Definition Of Success (VIDEO)

WATCH: The CEO Of Aereo Reveals His 'Most Important Personal Driver'

Chet Kanojia's company Aereo, an Internet start-up that streams TV content, is rising in the national consciousness as more users turn toward its convenience and big broadcasters attempt to litigate against it.

As he sits at the helm of a growing company, Kanojia said his definition of success goes beyond money.

"To me, the financial aspects of things are immaterial. Money is nice to have. I've been very fortunate in my life. It gives you a little flexibility, freedom, you can go on nice vacations," he said. "But to me success is have you changed something meaningful? Have you created something that is different, that is distinct?"

Creating something distinct is especially important to Kanojia.

"Distinction is probably the most important personal driver for me," he said. "I'm from India, so it's a large country and to stand out, it takes a lot. There's no entitlement, at least from where I come from. So just being distinct and accomplishing that distinction is success."
