Oscars 2014 Nominations Highlight '12 Years A Slave' & More

The Oscars' 2014 lineup is set! Nominees for the 86th annual Academy Awards were announced on Thursday, Jan. 16 by actor Chris Hemsworth and Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences President Cheryl Boone Isaacs. The pair read the list of honorees at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Among the films honored by the 2014 Oscars are Steve McQueen's "12 Years a Slave," which took home the award for Best Motion Picture - Drama at this past weekend's Golden Globe Awards, and David O. Russell's star-studded "American Hustle," which won Best Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy at the Globes.

At last year's 85th annual Academy Awards, "Life of Pi" led the night, taking home four statues. The film won Best Director for Ang Lee, Best Original Score, Best Visual Effects, and Best Cinematography. Other big winners were Ben Affleck's "Argo," which won Best Picture, and Tom Hooper's adaptation of "Les Miserables."

Ellen DeGeneres will host the upcoming awards show at Hollywood's Dolby Theatre. The program will air on ABC on March 2.
