Trent Reznor had two words following the 56th annual Grammy Awards: "F--k you."
Reznor tweeted his displeasure with The Recording Academy's celebration of all things music after the Nine Inch Nails frontman's performance alongside Josh Homme (from Queens of the Stone Age), Dave Grohl (from Foo Fighters) and Lindsey Buckingham (from Fleetwood Mac) was cut short by advertisements for Hilton Hotels and Delta.

The prefab quarter was introduced by host LL Cool J ("This is how we rock and roll!") before ripping into "Copy of A" by Nine Inch Nails. Renzor's performance was followed by Homme singing Queens of the Stone Age's "My God Is The Sun." It was then that Grammys producers ran the advertisements and closing credits. "We save the end slot for something that is a bit of a jam, because you can have the energy go and then it's just a matter of the clock," Recording Academy president Neil Portnow told THR after the broadcast. The 2014 Grammys ceremony was supposed to end at 11:30 p.m. on the East Coast, but the broadcast was roughly 10 minutes past that number by the time Reznor took the stage.
