President Barack Obama gave House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) a shout out during his State of the Union address on Tuesday, saying that the "strength of our work ethic and the scope of our dreams" is "how the son of a barkeep is Speaker of the House." The speaker's father owned a bar in Ohio that Boehner worked at while growing up.
Boehner gave Obama a thumbs up and a smile and eventually stood for the applause.
Boehner may have even blushed, though it's pretty hard to tell.
It's a big turn around from last year, when Boehner remained seated for almost the entire speech.
