Is Sarah Paulson's 'American Horror Story' Character The New Supreme?

We may have been dead right in our "American Horror Story: Coven" theory about the next Supreme.

With some digging, an easter egg was discovered in the "Coven" opening credits, revealing that Cordelia (Sarah Paulson) may succeed Fiona (Jessica Lange) as Supreme, the coven's most powerful witch. And Paulson may have just confirmed our theory.

Paulson also spilled that Cordelia is more involved in the finale than she has been in previous episodes this season, and likened the ending of "Coven" to the conclusion of "Asylum," She hinted, "There's a similarity in terms of coming full circle."

If you recall, (spoiler alert if you haven't finished "Asylum") Paulson's Lana was the only survivor at the end of the show's second season. When the witches attempt the Seven Wonders in the new episode of "Coven," only one witch, the rightful Supreme, will remain standing.

Paulson was the hero last season, so perhaps creator Ryan Murphy will let her steal the spotlight once again on "Coven."

The season finale of "American Horror Story: Coven" airs on FX on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 10:00 p.m. EST.
