How To Improve Your Chances Of Competing In Winter Olympics

WATCH: How To Improve Your Chances Of Competing In The Olympics

If watching the Winter Olympics in Sochi has inspired you to try out for future Games, there's hope. A little hope, but hope nonetheless.

A new animated video from AsapSCIENCE and the CBC weighs the odds of becoming an Olympian and how to improve those odds.

You'll need a sport, right? Consider curling, because it involves more competitors than most sports, requires less of certain athletic skills -- according to scientists -- and accommodates older participants, the vid says. Hockey also has many players per team, but those same scientists ranked it as the most demanding winter pursuit in terms of endurance, power, hand-eye coordination and other factors. Besides, you could lose your teeth.

Being from a large country -- the United States, perhaps? -- might hurt your chances, too. You'll have a better shot if you're from tiny Liechtenstein.

For more on your chances of becoming an Olympian, let AsapSCIENCE do the math for you in the fun clip above. Then, start training and getting those new citizenship papers in order.
