Is "White Collar" in trouble?

The USA crime caper series starring Matt Bomer and Tim DeKay should have already started pre-production on Season 6, but Deadline reports that production is on hold, and the future of the series is undetermined.

It seems that there has been some disagreement between the network, USA, and the studio that produces "White Collar," Fox TV. The "network has been mulling a short miniseries to wrap the story in the vein of Showtime’s 'The Big C,' while the studio would prefer a traditional final season," according to Deadline.

Season 5 ended in a cliffhanger, so hopefully like other USA shows, "Psych" and "Burn Notice," "White Collar" will receive a final season to wrap-up storylines and go out on a high note.

Correction: An earlier version of this post mistakenly inserted Tim DeKay's character, Peter Burke, instead of the actor himself, as one of the stars of the series.
