These Ice Floes Just Might Hypnotize You

Get yourself to a quiet place, hit the play button and prepare for 43 seconds of pure zen.

A new time-lapse video by amateur photographer Albert Bartkus (embedded above) offers a unique look at Thursday's strange weather in Chicago.

As the chunks of ice flow speedily along the mostly thawed Chicago River and away from Lake Michigan in the clip, fog drifts and rain falls overhead. The resultant visual is stunning.

Bartkus, who lives on the 54th floor of Marina Tower, told the Chicago Tribune his camera shot about 1,000 photos of the river five seconds apart for the video. The photos were taken over the course of a couple of hours, according to CBS Chicago.
