'Heroes' Will Return As An NBC Miniseries in 2015

'Heroes' Returns

Save the cheerleader, save the world ... again?

NBC announced that they are bringing back "Heroes," the sci-fi series that ran from 2006-2010, in miniseries form that will debut in 2015.

"We’re thrilled that visionary creator Tim Kring was as excited about jumping back into this show as we were and we look forward to all the new textures and layers Tim plans to add to his original concept," said NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke. "Until we get closer to air in 2015, the show will be appropriately shrouded in secrecy, but we won’t rule out the possibility of some of the show’s original cast members popping back in.”

Some of those original cast members such as Hayden Panettiere and Zachary Quinto went on to bigger projects, like "Nashville" and "Star Trek" respectively, so whether they will return remains to be seen.

Before the 13-episode miniseries debuts, there will also be a digital series that introduces the new characters and plot.
