There are times when you want your citrus to shine. Like when you're making a key lime pie. Or if you're getting showy with a blood orange salad. But for other occasions, citrus -- and lime in particular -- really does its best work when used in the background, to freshen up a chicken recipe with a quick squeeze or to help brighten the flavors of a hearty winter soup. With just a little bit of lime, your otherwise mediocre meals are instantly upgraded.
