Every parent worries about those milestone conversations that will shape their kids' morals, manners and views on sex. Sometimes, it's difficult broach those topics in a positive way without saying something wrong or making everyone uncomfortable.
Doctors Logan Levkoff and Jennifer Wilder came up with a how-to guide for tough conversations with kids in their new book "Got Teens?: The Doctor Moms' Guide to Sexuality, Social Media and Other Adolescent Realities." They joined HuffPost Live's Caitlyn Becker to share their tips on steering teens in the right direction.
One of the topics was how and when to talk about sex. Levkoff said it's never too early for open and honest conversations.
"You start at birth, and I mean that really seriously, because we're talking about sexuality and not really just sex and sex behaviors," she said. "So when you talk about gender and body parts and different kinds of families, you're talking about sex and sexuality."
