This Kentucky Fan's Tattoo Is Extremely Wishful Thinking

A diehard Kentucky basketball fan is betting on a March Madness longshot with permanent ink.

Tyler Black got a new tattoo Thursday that declares the Wildcats the 2014 national champions. The tat, located on his right calf, reads, "2014 Nati9nal Champions UK." (The "9" signifies what would be the school's ninth title if it won the NCAA tournament.)

But, of course, the tournament has yet to begin, Kentucky has yet to gain entry, and the odds don't favor the traditional powerhouse anyway. Kentucky had lost nine games as of Friday afternoon and was not ranked in the top 25.

That didn't deter Black, aka @Tizzblack or Tyrone, who now sports a lifelong and probably erroneous souvenir of the Wildcats' campaign.

"I'm not delusional," Black told the sports network. "I know we've had a rough season. Big Blue Nation is down and the majority of people have no faith in us. But we have faith in ourselves."

If Kentucky falls short, he said, the tattoo can serve as a remembrance of a season that didn't work out. The stunt attracted fans and critics, of course. To the latter, he responded:
