How Big Is The Universe? Fun New Video Gives Easy-To-Understand Explanation

The universe is really, really big. How big? Well, if you sent a text message to the nearest galaxy, Andromeda, it would take 2.5 million years to get there. Mind. Blown.

And that's just one of many mind-boggling facts in a new Vimeo video from Beakus, an animation studio on a mission to explain some pretty inexplicable scientific facts.

In the lighthearted animation, Liz Roche -- an astronomer at England'sRoyal Observatory Greenwich -- explains the size of the universe using comparisons to toilet stalls and other everyday objects. Take a look in the video above, and you'll be amazed how much information can fit into five minutes.
