When it comes to cutting down calories when consuming alcohol, David Zinczenko, author of Eat It To Beat It!, had some helpful tips for us.
“Watch the beer!” he laughed. “I like light beer or wine, but you have to make sure to watch your portion size.”
David recommends beverages like champagne, which are lower in calories at 80-90 calories per serving. For mixed beverages, David recommends options like a Cosmo, which will usually have 150-170 calories, compared to a sugar-loaded Margarita that could have upwards of 700 whopping calories.
