Star Jones Really Wants Hillary Clinton To Be President

Star Jones Blasts Sexist Critics Of A Hillary Clinton Presidency

Star Jones hit back at what she perceives to be sexist arguments against a Hillary Clinton presidency during an interview with HuffPost Live on April 23.

During a conversation with host Marc Lamont Hill about her involvement with the National Association of Professional Women, Jones criticized pundits who have questioned whether Americans want a grandmother in the White House following the news of Chelsea Clinton's pregnancy.

"How many grandchildren did Romney have? He has a bunch of grandchildren, beautiful kids. Nobody ever was concerned about that," Jones said. "So let's be consistent when it comes to the presidential election."

Jones also took issue with a recent New York Times piece that asserted a Clinton candidacy "would also probably block the paths for other women running for the White House, and, notably, for those who would like to be vice president."

"There have been two men at the top of the ticket for all times except a couple, as I recall, so thinking about two women at the top of the ticket seems like a pretty interesting idea," she said.

And for anyone who has doubts about whether a woman has the strength to lead the country, Jones has a simple response: "Women know how to handle business, trust and believe."
