Larry King Is 'Glad' He's Not At CNN For 'Absurd' Plane Coverage

If there's one reason Larry King is happy to be gone from CNN, it's the network's Malaysia Airlines plane coverage.

The former CNN host told Capital New York's Alex Weprin in an interview published Tuesday that after 26 years at the network, he is "glad" he is no longer there to be a part of its "absurd" coverage of Flight 370. He said that despite CNN's round-the-clock coverage, he "learned nothing" about the plane's whereabouts and said the network is "in a quandary."

"That has been turned into the most absurd news story," King said. "It was a great news story and then it went absurd."

King slammed the network nearly a month ago for what he called “abysmal” coverage of the missing plane. In Tuesday's interview, he blasted the network again for ignoring the crisis in Ukraine, the GM recall, landslides in Washington and events in South Korea in favor of plane coverage.

"All that coverage has led to nothing," he said.

This isn't the first time King has spoken candidly about his split from CNN. He told HuffPost Live in January that "CNN's got problems."
