Oscar-winning actress of Mexican descent, Lupita Nyong’o, was baptized as this year’s “Most Beautiful” by “People” magazine. Selena Gomez and Sofia Vergara were among the gorgeous Latinas in the list of 50. But the fun didn’t stop there, “People en Español” also jumped on the bandwagon, recently revealing their pick of los 50 mas bellos (the 50 most beautiful).
New talents have dominated the list in the magazine, earning this year’s edition the title “la nueva generacion” (the new generation).
The fresh, radiant and beautiful faces of this year’s 50 most beautiful Latino stars are actors, artists and athletes alike, who have seduced people with their talent and charm.
This year, People en Español did its first-ever circus theme, in honor of Celia Cruz’s hit “La Vida es un Carnaval.”
“It’s a super production of the 17 years that People has honored ‘bellos’,” editor of People en Español Armando Correa said, according to Univision.
The theme dedicated to the circus, fair and carnival, had many challenges when it came to getting the stars ready for the photo shoot.
“It’s very difficult to paint the face of an actor because it’s what they want to show,” Correa said.
He also added that Mexican actor Jaime Camil, who also made the cut, was one of the few artists that was open-minded and excited about the project.
La nueva generacion includes faces such as superstar of Puerto Rican descent Bruno Mars, Mexican-American singer Chiquis Rivera, Mexican TV host Alejandra Espinoza and Dominican bachata crooner Romeo Santos.
However, only ten of the most desired artists in the public eye made it to the three-page cover of People en Español.
Those picked to delight the front page are actors Daniel Arenas, Pedro Moreno, boxer Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, actresses Ana Brenda Contreras, Angelique Boyer, Maite Perroni, Blanca Soto, Marjorie de Sousa, Genesis Rodriguez and Eiza Gonzalez, who said she was overwhelmed with the honor.
“I continue to have a normal life, I still can’t assimilate that I am working in Hollywood,” the “From Dusk till Dawn” sitcom star told People.
Although this wave of new talent is invading the Latin entertainment biz, we still hold a special place in our hearts for the classic bellos and bellas like Shakira, Ricky Martin and Luis Miguel.
