Candy Spelling On Her Daughter Tori: 'It's Really Hard' Seeing Her In Pain

Tori Spelling's life has been under a microscope lately with the April premiere of her reality show, "True Tori." Her skeletal frame, recent hospitalization for "anxiety," and cheating husband, Dean McDermott, certainly hasn't helped the 40-year-old former actress escape further media scrutiny.

The reality star's mother, Candy Spelling, has had a publicly tumultuous relationship with Tori, but she told HuffPost Live's Caitlyn Becker on Tuesday that it's incredibly painful to watch her troubled daughter suffer.

"It's all very emotional," she said. "If I could take the hit for her, I would. She's my child -- we're not talking about some crazy reality star here, we're talking about my little girl. So it's really hard for me to have to watch her ever be in pain or ever hurt."

Candy's compassion for her daughter comes at an interesting time, as her recently-released memoir, "Candy At Last," has the mother expressing frustration at Tori's inability to take responsibility for her problems.

"I also believe that there comes a time when you have to stop blaming your parents," she wrote. "Take responsibility for your own actions and attitudes."
