Teen Prostitute Known As 'Chocolate Bunny' Accused In Murder Of Florida Man

A teen prostitute known as "Chocolate Bunny" is charged with the murder of a man who contacted her through a classified ad.

Police say Amber Ward, 18, was investigated for the fatal shooting after police found Isaac Grace, 29, dead in a Tallahassee, Florida, motel room earlier this month.

"Ms. Ward is a known prostitute. She has had a previous arrest in Mobile for prostitution which stemmed from city of Mobile investigation. But we did find where she had advertised on Backpage.com," said Sgt. Joe Mahoney, Mobile County Sheriff's Office spokesman. Mahoney said Ward was soliciting sex throughout the region.

Police said that Grace answered one of Ward's ads on Backpage, a classified listings website, and the two agreed to meet in Tallahassee on May 1. When Ward had the man in the room, she allegedly shot him several times and stole his cell phone.

"These Backpage ads, there are several of them each day advertising sexual favors. But you never know. A lot of times these are women or even men posing as, setting up guys to show up at a remote location where they're isolated and can be robbed," Mahoney told WPMI.

Police arrested Ward at her home in Mobile, Alabama, after tracing the phone number used to book the motel room back to her, WCTV reports. Ward works as an escort in Florida and Alabama, police said.

Investigators said they found spent shell casings in her car that they believe are consistent with the gun that killed Grace.

Last year, a transgender woman and her male associate were charged in the shooting death of a U.S. Coast Guard officer who responded to the woman's Backpage ad.

In 2012, a Detroit man was accused of killing four women, three of whom he allegedly met through ads on Backpage.
