Hugh Jackman Got Up Close And Personal With A Sock For His Nude Scene In 'X-Men' Movie

Hugh Jackman Went 'Commando,' And Lived To Tell The Tale

Hugh Jackman is known for his muscular physique as he plays Wolverine in the "X-Men" franchise. So, when it came time to strip down to his birthday suit for a nude scene in "X-Men: Days Of Future Past," the Aussie actor was ready and willing -- actually he was the one who decided he should drop his drawers.

"It wasn't written as a nude scene," Jackman told Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan during an appearance on "Live with Kelly and Michael" Wednesday, May 21. "The movie has Wolverine traveling back in time to prevent something cataclysmic from happening in the future. So, I land back in 1973, I wake up -- this is what the script says -- next to a girl, who I don't remember, and I get out of bed wearing boxer shorts. And I was like, 'I'm sorry, I don't know about America, but in Australia, if you're next to a really good looking girl, you're not getting out with boxer shorts on.' So yeah, I went commando and we just went for it."

Jackman went on to explain that although his back-end is showing, the frontal view was covered by, um, a sock.

"They brought a bright green sock for me to wear and I was like, 'This is kind of drawing more attention than less!' And they said, 'No, no, no, we need bright green -- like a green screen, so if you bend over or turn around, we need to erase anything.' And I said, 'That's even weirder right there!'"

But, the 45-year-old actor put it on and cooperated with the crew, although he jokingly admitted it fell off by the end of the first take. "So, [I was] basically commando," he smirked.

Despite the arousing story, Strahan was still curious about one last thing: "Is it one size fits all or do they got different sizes?"

"Different sizes, man," Jackman nodded, with approval of course.
