Shakira Drums Up World Cup Video With Messi, Piqué, Tiger And Son

Shakira is drumming up a storm for Brazil.

On Thursday the Colombian superstar debuted the video for “La La La,” her musical contribution to this year’s FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

Shak’s “Waka Waka” became a worldwide anthem for 2010’s South Africa World Cup and this time she’s joined forces with Brazilian singer Carlinhos Brown and adapted her song “Dare” for the much-anticipated soccer tournament.

The music video was produced with Activia to support the UN’s World Food Programme, which provides school meals for children in need. In the clip, the singer wears a black leather corset top with a flowy floor-length skirt as she bangs giant bass drums and shows her skill with a soccer ball.

Fans, young aspiring soccer players and even wild animals from all over the world come together on screen donning their country’s colors, cultural attire and passion for the global sport.

Some of this year’s biggest soccer stars also made an appearance, Brazil’s Neymar, Argentina’s Lionel Messi, Colombia’s Radamel Falcao and more join the star for the chorus.

Shakira’s Spanish boyfriend Gerard Piqué, whom she met on the set of her “Waka Waka” video, returned for the new video but this time the couple brought along their 1-year-old son Milan on set.

“La la la” will be a part of the Official 2014 FIFA World Cup album “One Rhythm, One Love,” though the soccer tournaments official song is Pitbull’s “We Are One (Ole Ola)” featuring Jennifer Lopez and Brazil’s Claudia Leitte.

Not all Brazilians, however, were happy with Pitbull’s new song and video saying they played on stereotypes of Samba dancing, capoeira fighters and Carnival costumes.

“Some people liked [the song], but it left many others disappointed by betting on clichés of Brazil and a generic sound,” said local entertainment outlet R7, according to the Los Angeles Times.
