Dad Accused Of Beating Daughter Who Chose African American Teen For Dance

A Texas father was jailed Tuesday for allegedly attacking his daughter because she chose to dance with an African American teen.

Aaron Aranza, 37, whipped his 14-year-old daughter with a belt and knocked her into a coffee table, according to court documents obtained by The Houston Chronicle.

The alleged incident occurred at a Quinceanera dance class on April 11, in Houston. Witnesses told police Aranza became enraged when his daughter selected an African-American teen as a dance partner, Click2houston.com reported.

The court documents reportedly state that in addition to allegedly attacking his daughter, Aranza used a racial epithet when he referred to the African-American teen and pushed the young man, saying "I don't care that you are a kid."

According to ABC13.com, Aranza was charged Tuesday with injury to a child under 15. He was released from the Harris County Jail that same day after posting a $20,000 bond.

It is unclear what injuries Aranza's daughter may have suffered.
