This Video Of Cannibalistic Talking Food Is Totally Bizarre And Hilarious

"I love avocados. They're like my soul food," says the breakfast sausage.

There are a lot of stupid videos on the Internet. This might be one of them, but we think it's a whole lot more than that. Filmmaker Siqi Song has made a video called "Food," and we think it's hilarious, smart, entertaining and totally worthwhile. It's a simple, stop-motion short that pokes fun at the way we talk about food. The leading characters are different foods that are all talking about their eating habits.

"I love avocados. They're like my soul food. They just make me happy," starts the video -- these words coming from pieces of breakfast sausage. What follows is a series of confessionals from pieces of food, about their diets and views on food.

A talking burger admits how much he loves meat of all kinds, especially meat from the sea. An uncooked, whole chicken nervously opens and closes her legs as she discloses her love of eggplant -- "I would marry eggplant if it was a person," she tells us. It's a bit unsettling.

As the video continues, however, the irony and hilarity of it all shines through. We all know people who preach about the food they eat -- this video captures those people and their attitudes perfectly, and all through talking food no less. The talking pretzels, describing when and how they decided to become vegetarians, hit the nail on the head. It was all thanks to a TV show revealing the conditions of factory farm chickens. The pretzels wanted no part.

According to Eater, Song took the voices from real interviews.

It's important to laugh at ourselves every once in a while. Song's video reminds of us this, in a completely strange, hilarious and thought-provoking way.
