Ever have days when you’re just not feeling in the swim of things? Diana Nyad, 64, is here to tell you to get on with it—your life, that is—and that quitting is not an option. We all cheered her—some silently, some at the tops of our lungs—as she dragged herself out of the ocean on Key West last September 2 after completing her history-making swim from Cuba to Florida, a 35-year-old dream come true. “Never, ever give up,” she said afterwards, inspiring people all over the globe. After all, she’d just put to rest 110.86 miles in 52 hours, 54 minutes, 18 seconds, and it was not easy.
