Ernie Els experienced a bout of Murphy's Law during his very first hole at the 2014 Open Championship at Royal Liverpool. First, his opening tee shot hit a spectator. Then, after a nice bunker shot left him about a foot from the cup, he missed not one, but two very short putts to finish with a triple bogey.

Given that Els has, at minimum, 35 more holes to go, let's hope for his sake that there's nowhere to go but up from here.
